ruby1My choice to venture in to this line of work was certainly not due to monetary motivation. It is rather my passion for the sport of cycling, which has, lead me to where I am in life. Simply put I believe in the bike. Cycling has not been a part of my life; it has been the channel that has given me the most in life. Cycling is the truest element of my life. Through cycling I have found myself, I have shared my self and I have enjoyed myself. My approach to cycling is not one of simple physical fitness, it is a philosophy of life which focuses every bit as much on mental enrichment as it does the physical body. As the century philosopher responded to his piers concerning dichotomy, “It is simply absurd to believe the body works separately of the mind”

I entered the bicycle world in 1991 working in sales and service at Gettysburg Bicycle & Fitness. It was there where an old school friend, Jes Stith (owner) and his wife Thora, introduced me to the world of mountain bike racing. Thanks! I have since continued to ride, race and remain knowledgeable about the bike world. I have competed winning many races, and still do competitively compete in pro/semi pro MTB racing, road racing and elite Cyclo-Cross racing.

In addition to spending time on the bike, I am a certified USA Cycling Coach. I work periodically in bicycle retail, which keeps me up to date with equipment and industry trends. I work as course coordinator with Event Power LI. (www.eventpowerli.com), setting up and operating triathlon and duathlon events (This year Event Power will be responsible for nine events). I also I play a key role in the operation and promotion of the Michaux Mountain Bike Race Series (a three race series of some of the greatest trails on earth!)
